Alzheimer and Brain Awareness

June is Alzheimer and Brain Awareness Month – a time to shine light on brain health and support the millions who are affected by Alzheimer’s Disease and forms of dementia. Our brain is the center of our everyday life. Our brain controls everything we do, how we think, feel, move, and remember.

Here are 5 ways to support your brain health:

  1. Stay active – get plenty of exercise.
  1. Eat brain-healthy foods – whole grains, fish, and healthy fats.
  1. Stay mentally engaged – challenge your brain health with fun activities. Try these puzzles today!
  1. Get quality sleep – your sleep patterns directly affect your brain health. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep per day.
  1. Stay socially connected – meaningful relationships and community involvement can protect your brain health.

Brain health is a lifelong journey, not just limited to the month of June. By educating ourselves and those affected, we can create compassion and support for the community.
